Is There a Republican Party in Florida?

A couple of days ago I got a phone call from someone claiming to represent the Florida Republican Party.  He asked if I was willing to donate $250 to help fight the agenda of the Democrats in Congress and Florida.  When I told him no, he kept trying to convince me that the Republican Party needs my help.  After some effort, I just gave up trying to be civil and hung up.

Why?  The Republican Party still will not listen. They still don’t get it.  Are they any different than Democrats?  In Florida, I say, NO.  Some examples that illustrate my thinking:

While the Honorable Governor of Louisiana, Bobby Jindal was calling for refusing the proceeds of the stimulus package allotted to Louisiana, our Governor, Charley Crist was on local television stating that he would be willing, … no eager, to accept whatever Louisiana turned down.

Senator Mel Martinez, the former Chairman of the Republican National Committee, is about as liberal as a Republican can be and still be even remotely considered a Republican.  He supports illegal immigrants, even sponsoring some of the bill that were eventually defeated. Barely a Republican. Certainly not conservative, Why bother?

The Republican Party has to recognize that the agenda has to return to promoting fiscal responsibility and conservative values.  American rights must take priority over immigrant demands.

Until that happens, I think I’ll just continue to say NO.  Until the Republican Party  returns to being Republicans, and decides to help the people by returning to conservative views, I refuse to help them.

McCain As Republican Presidential Nominee - A Disastrous Possibility

Super Tuesday is just a few days away and John McCain’s momentum may evolve into him being the virtual winner of the Republican Nomination for President.  The majority of Republicans apparently believe that McCain has change and now sees the light on illegal immigration.  Nothing could be further from the truth.

John McCain supports amnesty for illegal immigrants.  John McCain along with Ted Kennedy wrote the book, er law that was presented which would have granted amnesty to 18 million illegal immigrants.  Has he changed?  Absolutely not, and all of his campaign speeches have indicated that fact.  His only change has been to state that the borders should be secured first.

John McCain STILL believes that AMNESTY is the proper way to treat illegal immigrants.  He proposed granting that AMNESTY to all illegal immigrants who aren’t fugitives.

If John McCain is the Republican candidate, the conservatives are without a candidate. It is very important that everyone who is against granting amnesty to illegal immigrants to voice their objection by voting for a candidate who is against amnesty.  There are three such candidates.  Romney, Huckabee and Paul.

Just as important though is that we must vote for that candidate in our state who has the best chance to beat McCain.  In some states it might be Huckabee,  but in most it will probably be Romney.  Whatever you do, do not vote for McCain.  A win for McCain will almost guarantee that our next President will be a Democrat.  So vote Tuesday.  Vote Conservative, and most importantly, vote SMART.  This election is too important to ignore the real issue - the future of the United States as we now know it.

Thank you.  Your comments are welcome and appreciated.
